Privacy Policy
Information we process
Nutrition Scan may process account identifiers, food entries, food images you select, nutrition analysis, meal history, preferences, subscription status, app diagnostics, and ad interactions. We do not ask you to upload identity documents or unrelated private images.
How information is used
Information is used to provide food recognition, nutrition estimates, meal plans, health coaching, cloud backup, account security, subscriptions, support, and service reliability.
Service providers
We use Firebase for authentication, database, messaging, and optional cloud services; Groq for AI processing; Google AdMob for advertising; and Google Play Billing for subscriptions. These providers process data under their own privacy terms. Premium users do not receive ads while their subscription is active.
AI and health information
Food images and prompts may be sent to an AI service to generate nutrition results. AI output can be inaccurate and is for general wellness information only. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Storage and retention
Local food history remains on your device until you delete it or clear app data. Cloud backup and cloud image upload are off by default. When you explicitly enable Auto Backup or start a manual backup, eligible food history may be stored in Firebase. Backup documents do not include your email, display name, device identifier, or local file paths. Optional cloud data remains until you delete it or your account. Short-lived security and operational logs may be retained where needed for fraud prevention and service reliability. Google Play purchase tokens are verified by the server and are not retained in raw form.
Your choices
You can delete food history, clear local data, review eligible ad privacy choices, and permanently delete your account and cloud data from Settings. You can also use our account deletion page.
Security and children
We use access controls and reasonable safeguards, but no online service is risk-free. Nutrition Scan is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian may contact us regarding a minor's information.
